Beautiful, sculptural art installation by Anthony James
LA-based, British-born artist Anthony James is known for his monumental and experiential sculptures and installations which highlight a deep respect for light and space. His current exhibition SQUARE ROOTS is on display at the Saatchi Gallery until the 29th of April 2022.
'Lightfield’, is an array of twelve interconnected cubic structures, each piece, an optical illusion encouraging inward and outward reflection. Formed from stainless steel, specialised glass, two-way mirrors and LED lights, the cubes are connected via ethernet cables, which simulate the interconnected root structure of a birch tree forest, communicating with one another. It is all controlled by a single computer ‘brain’ and has an interactive element allowing the light to follow visitors as they walk through the space.
