Civilian VSS "Vintorez"
The production of civilian weapons based on combat-oriented originals is a prominent feature of the Russian shooting industry. Weapons developed for special forces, available to the general public only through illustrations in manuals, continued to generate particular interest. Therefore, the civilian version of the Vintorez was very popular. In 2018, the design team at the Tula Arms Plant presented two hunting versions to the Russian arms industry – the KO VSS and KO VSS-1.
Both versions of the carbine are based on original combat-oriented weapons. The carbine barrels are a completely original design. Unlike the original versions used by the military, the civilian Vintorez barrel does not contain perforations designed to muffle the gunshot sound. The manufacturer claims a shooting accuracy of no more than 8 cm at a distance of 100 m. The effective firing range, according to the weapon's specifications, is up to 400 m.
