This week's transcript:
Hi, I'm Robert Scot, and welcome to this week's episode of "Dear Dr. YouTube."
This week's Dear Dr. YouTube question comes from Nancy Kennedy. She's a student of our "Web Video Means Business - The Playbook course, available on Udemy.com
Please check out the course. It's got some fantastically valuable information on it, regarding web video optimization campaigns for emarketers and entrepreneurs.
Nancy writes: Dear Dr YouTube -
My video was at the top of page 1 on google.
Now it’s not. and I didn’t do a thing.
Please help.`
Well Nancy, The only thing you can be certain about in the video marketing business is Change.
So, don’t get excited if one of your videos slips a bit in the search results. Afterall, your video marketing campaign can not be about one singular keyword search nor one video.
There’s no long-term security in that. You must continue to add and enhance your channel and your video library to let YouTube and Google know you’re still serious, especially when it comes to highly competitive search terms.
You said you didn’t do a thing … Well, make some adjustments – and take a look at the video that replaced you on top of Google.
Now, in some cases, it’s a matter of Google changing their algorithm. They might’ve maid a tiny change in how their grading new videos.
Sometimes, they seem to decide that certain searches will not return any video responses at all.
It’s rare, but certain keyword searches in certain industries show up zero video responses on page 1. No real rhyme or reason.
But, the solution goes back to what I was saying earliey.

A sound, professional video optimization campaign is aimed at a number of your favorite keywords and keyword phrases, with a number of videos aimed at each of those keywords.

If you’re keeping up on Uploading new, interesting videos, on your products or services that are saturated in keyword-rich vocabulary, you’ll ride out the changes, and your appearance in Google’s results will be spectacular and often.
Good Luck Nancy, and everyone else, as well.
