It is very frustrating when InDesign keeps bringing in things incorrectly—like your Word Manuscript, a vector shape, image frame, or text frame. Is it being glitchy??? Likely not! Generally, this means you have unintentionally applied a "Preset," or a pre-assigned style that is applied to each new imported item.
This can cause big problems when working on long documents. Say, accidentally applying a character style of "italic" to a whole Word Doc on import!
So, follow along as I explain why you're likely having issues, how to fix them, and how to use Presets to your advantage!
