The hot topic in the creative industry, is AI coming for our jobs and can it truly replace the human element. In this video I take a look at an interesting application from Samplab. This is a freely available plugin that turns text prompts into music snippets of up to 30 seconds.

You can download a copy from here - https://samplab.com/text-to-sample and comes in standalone and VST3 formats.

This video is more of at "Let's see what it can do" more than creating whole pieces of music. Samplab have used Meta's MusicGen model weights, which are licenced under CC BY-NC 4.0. In particular, the weights of the "small" model are used. These models have used music from the Pond5 library in their language building, which is kind of interesting.
