The Arab states claim solidarity but have done more than nothing to support the Palestinians who are actively resisting genocide. But why? This video essay explores a leftist history of arabism, its toxic relationship with the Palestinian cause, and interrogates the still-existing remnants of these failed ideologies and strategies in light of the present moment of genocide and normalization. This video essay was created before the current ceasefire in Gaza, but the arguments remain true, if not more so.
