Prowler Playthrough Ep.2 (Cephadrome + Gendrome): Desert Degenerates – Harmful if Swallowed
Our prowlers take to the desert to take down two new foes: Gendrome and Cephadrome. Both yielding essential skills. Not going to lie, it's kind of surprising how the "useless" monsters have a good chunk of the super useful prowler skills. I didn't expect to get Big Boomerangs and Piercing Boomerangs as early as I did, but hey. Damage is damage as they say. However, Monster Hunter wouldn't be the game it is without sidequests, and in GU there is plenty to distract our cattos.

How Monster Hunter Damage is Calculated:
Melee: true attack x sharpness modifier x motion value x monster part defense x any other modifiers.
Ranged: true raw x motion value of ammo x distance modifier x monster part defense x other multipliers (like normal s up)
Elemental/status: elemental status/value x sharpness (status/element shot have no crit. Distance) x elemental/status up modifiers.
If an attack crits, add a 1.25 (1.4 with critical boost) multiplier. If it anti-crits, add a 0.75 multiplier.
(Prowlers are a bit weird. The above calculation is for hunters specifically.)
Lil Narga's damage vs Gordan's damage:
57 (weapon raw) x 0.13 (charged big boomerang MV) x 0.35 (Cephadrome's head modifier) = 2.59
57 (weapon raw) x 0.15 (charged piercing boomerang MV) x 0.35 (Cephadrome's head modifier) = 2.99 x 1.1 (with ranged attack up).
Without taking into account their ranged attack stats, Gordan is going to be consistently doing more damage per boomerang throw.
