In this video, we demonstrate how to control home appliances remotely using an IR Receiver and ESP32.
With this project, any standard TV/DVD/Set-top box IR remote can be used to wireless switch ON/OFF electrical devices like lights, fans, and other appliances through a relay connected to the ESP32.
The ESP32 reads and decodes the infrared signals received from the IR remote. Each key press on the remote generates a unique hexadecimal code, which is mapped to turn ON/OFF the connected appliance.
This is a simple and effective home automation solution that works without Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
