Tesla China Ends Declining Sales with 71,599 Cars Sold in June

In June, Tesla sold 71,599 vehicles from its Shanghai factory, including exports — that’s up just under 1 percent from last year and 16 percent higher than May. It's the first year-on-year increase in nine months.
For the second quarter, Tesla China moved close to 192,000 vehicles, though that’s still down nearly 7 percent compared to last year, marking the third straight quarter of annual declines. Total sales for the first half of 2025 hit 364,000 units — a drop of nearly 15 percent from the same time last year.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi is shaking up the electric vehicle scene. Its new YU7 electric SUV launched on June 26 and snapped up over 240,000 locked-in orders in just 18 hours. It’s bigger and cheaper than Tesla's Model Y, and could put real pressure on Tesla’s sales in China.
Also worth noting, Tesla has bumped the price of its long-range Model 3 in China to around $40,000 and boosted the driving range to 468 miles.
