FOX Chicago News description:

There's growing concern that Japan could soon be dealing with a nuclear disaster, and that has many wondering if we're safe in Illinois. David Kraft from the Nuclear Energy Information Service joined us to break down the risk.

Kraft said the under-reported concern at the Japanese plants and Illinois are spent fuel pools, or the collected radioactive waste that has been produced throughout the history of the plant. According to Kraft, there have been reports of a fire at the spent fuel part of a Japanese reactor and that could be a worst-case scenario type disaster.

Kraft works for a group that is against the use of nuclear power.
