Drop sets are one of the most popular methods in the gym. Coleman's meta-analysis (2023): with the same volume, drop sets equal regular hypertrophy sets. Fink (2018): drop sets elicit a significantly greater cortisol response. For natural lifters, this isn't an advantage, but a trap. I'll discuss when drop sets make sense and when they don't.
