In this all new episode of Excel.TV, I show you a quick tip to help you work even faster! Have you ever needed to combine a series of cells into one cell? Well, the old way wasn't great. You had two options: (1) the Concat(enate) function and (2) the ampersand.
Both of these options required you to select each cell by itself. A few years back, Microsoft introduced the TEXTJOIN functions and things have never been the same since. TEXTJOIN allows you to combine a series of cells into one.
TEXTJOIN looks like this: TEXTJOIN( delimiter, ignore_empty, text1, [ text2, ... text_n ] ). In the first argument, you can assign a delimiter (like a "" or a comma ","). The next argument you can supply whether you want it to ignore blanks. Finally, in the last argument, you can supply a series of cells of any size or range! Hit ENTER and you'll see your text has been combined.
