1. Download the Installer
Go to the official VirtualBox Downloads page.
Under the VirtualBox 7.2.6 platform packages section, click on Windows hosts.
While you're there, also download the VirtualBox Extension Pack (look for the "All supported platforms" link). This adds support for USB 3.0, disk encryption, and NVMe.
2. Run the Installation Wizard
Launch the .exe: Locate your downloaded file (usually VirtualBox-7.2.6-Win.exe) and double-click to run it.
Custom Setup: You can generally leave everything at the default settings. Click Next.
Network Warning: You’ll see a warning that your network connection might temporarily drop. This is because VirtualBox installs a virtual network driver. Click Yes.
Dependencies: If the installer tells you it needs "Python Core" or "Win32 API," click Yes to allow it to install those missing components automatically.
Finalize: Click Install and wait for the status bar to finish.
