Minsk’s Most Soviet KFC 🇧🇾
In the center of Minsk, you’ll find one of the world’s most unusual KFCs. Above the fast-food spot hangs a huge Soviet bas-relief called “Solidarity,” created by artist Anatoly Artimovich in 1968. The sculpture shows stylized, powerful figures in motion—symbolizing unity and Soviet ideals.
Today, this dramatic artwork hovers over a buzzing Western chain, mixing Soviet history with modern capitalism in a way you’ll only see in Belarus. Locals jokingly call it the “Brutal KFC.”
The restaurant is on Prospekte Pobeditelei, right by Niamiha Metro. Even if you’re not into fried chicken, it’s worth visiting for this wild clash of eras and styles 🙂.
