Learn how to create a stock market graphic in Photoshop and Adobe After Effects.
Part I
Adobe Photoshop
In a few easy steps, you can create a 3D candlestick image in Photoshop.
To create the candlestick, you will be using the rectangle and line shape tool.
1. Red Candlestick using the rectangle tool
2. Green candlestick using the rectangle tool
3. Line tool to finish the candlestick
After you finish creating the red candlestick, you will merge the layers by selecting all layers and selecting merge shapes. You will do this for the green candlesticks and for the line shapes.
The last step is to turn the red and green candlestick layers into 3D layers which you can do by going to 3D and selecting 3D extrusion from the selected layer.
You will export your image as a PNG keeping the background transparent so when you import your image in Adobe After Effects there will be no background making it simple to edit in After Effects.
Part II
Adobe After Effects
Most of the effects will only require Adobe After Effects to complete.
The grid is created using the plugin Trapcode Form.
We will be using Hue/Saturation, cc ball action, and light sweep to create an interesting stock market graphic.
After you learn the basics, you can use these tools to create your own graphics that you could use on your blog or sell as a stock illustration.
