Steampunk Fleming Valve Lamp
My Brother decided he wanted a replica of Fleming Valve or Fleming Diode for his recording studio. What's a Fleming Diode you may ask? well its one of the greatest scientific discoveries in modern electronics, and fairly obscure (at least in the USA). The Fleming Valve was created to exploit the Edison effect where charged particles where able to fly through a vacuum, this effect lead to signal detection and eventually the modern computer. for more information visit:

Now what does this have to do with a random toy/maker channel on you tube? Well it's time to make a steampunk looking replica of this flaming valve, so after some rather rushed 3d modeling and a complete lack of time, we successfully created a replica fit for a recording studio and quite the conversation piece. but the most important part of any period piece prop is of course...usb ports.This turned out really well and i am actually thinking about a rev 2 of this with additional features.
