Like I said in the video, and I worded it poorly so I'll reiterate: I would NEVER want to go through an experience like this again. This isn't the worst experience with a level I've ever had, but the fact that it's top 1 and an extremely anxiety inducing level made this really stressful for me. It's basically Crimson Planet on steroids. In the beginning, Tartarus felt so incredibly difficult, and it was the first time since Kenos that I've ever felt like I'm seriously struggling with a level. And I struggled HARD for a while. I was always super bad at this level, but overall, I learned a good bit from my time with Tartarus, and I've definitely improved a ton, so I'm very excited to see what I can pull off moving forward.
I'm gonna start going through individual sections, at least with the harder levels I beat, so here we go:
0-22 (Predrop): This probably isn't the hardest SECTION, but it's the hardest part in my opinion. Basically what I mean by that is I think the predrop counts as a part AND a section, while stuff like the drop ship and the 45 ship are separate parts in the same section. The predrop never really got consistent for me until the literal last day, so who knows if I would continue my consistency if I hadn't beaten it. The first ship is an actual disgrace to this planet btw.
22-46 (Drop): The drop section is definitely the hardest because it includes 31 and 45, the two fixed hitbox parts. A fixed hitbox is when a mini spike is place on the top of a big spike, making the hitbox much stricter. The fixed hitboxes at 31 isn't the problem, even though it does make it considerably more difficult. I had a real problem with the transition at 31, and like the predrop, I never got consistent at it. Like literally at all. It was always a mystery. Other than that, 22-44 is actually really fun, but then you get to 45. Actual RNG fixed hitbox straight fly. The transition into 45 also made it severely more inconsistent, not even including the fact that there's a gravity change mid straight fly. This is probably the most inconsistent part, but since it's like a second long and somewhat playable, I didn't have an extreme problem with it like some other parts.
47-63 (Mid-Section): Definitely my favorite part of the level (also the easiest). Everything in this section was consistent and fun for me. It's also fairly click sync based and high cps compared to the other parts, so that made it pretty satisfying. The only thing that brings this part down are the first couple of clicks in the swing copter. Other than that, solid ass section.
64-100 (Ending): It's a misconception that this is the easiest section of the level. While it is the second easiest, the choke points at 71, 75, 80, and 98 make the difficulty. I'll start with 71, which is definitely the worst choke point in this section for me. The slope transition obviously acts like a slope transition and sends you in a random spot every time so you have to compensate and hold your mouse a slightly different amount every time you play it. Fucking dogshit. 75 is really stupid, and I'll admit that, even though I didn't have a problem with it (never died there L). 80 is the easiest choke point here because it's the most skill based. It's basically just really hard straight fly under pressure. 97 and 98 are way too stupid for a top 1. I thank god every night that I didn't die to 98. It's actually the stupidest luck based ball click ever.
