[2.0] "Sidestep" 100% (Demon) by ChaSe [3 Coins] Geometry Dash
A very iconic level that traces back to early 2016, and it's now been 6 years since I beat this the first time. I somewhat remember the pain I went through the first time around - I wanted to beat it the night it got rated in-game, and I grinded this level from around midnight until about 5 or 6 in the morning, taking 2,300 attempts to do it.
Unfortunately my completion video of the level never blew up like I was hoping, but my early practice on this level paid off later when it was added to the first demon gauntlet in the game, and I re-beat it fairly quickly, only taking 177 attempts the second time around. This level is a visual masterpiece, far exceeding any mainstream level that was released in mid-2.0, and it still holds up incredibly well all these years after it first came out.
I think this level is primarily responsible for turning Chase into a common name in the creating community, and although he released many more levels into late 2.0 and early-mid 2.1, I think this will always be the level he is best known for, especially since it is the first demon level in the gauntlets players encounter, and it's now the 22nd most downloaded demon level in Geometry Dash.
This level is incredibly unique, with so many great gameplay ideas and fantastic execution throughout, and I've actually never seen another level quite like it. The gameplay is really fun overall, although there are some bugs I encountered on higher refresh rates, but it's still very satisfying to play, while also feeling rewarding to pull off. I never collected the 3rd coin when I beat this in the gauntlet, so I figured it was worth going back for it, since I also wanted to showcase this iconic level and talk a little bit about my personal history with it.
