The Finger of Death
The "finger of death," also known as brinicles, are hollow ice tubes descending from the ocean surface to the seabed, freezing everything in their path. These formations occur when cracks in ice sheets release saltwater, which then sinks to the bottom of the ocean, creating these eerie structures. Despite being known about for decades, they've only been filmed once.
