Mulan || Your Highness
This movie was the most terrible i've seen in years. I don't think humans are behind the adaptations anymore, I think they're just mass produced using the 'live action' formula.
In the beginning i was totally fine with their being no Mushu or lucky cricket when i heard about it. The idea of a more adult or serious film was great, exciting even.
But boy oh boy, They basically took the Mulan cartoon and replicated frame by frame, just taking out all the good stuff. No Mushu, No horse with an attitude, no I'll make a man out of you, no emotional montage as Mulan runs away. I HATE THIS THING SO MUCH
The female empowerment is the only thing this movie is talking about and it's so on the nose. Mulan's fighting buddies are half-ass and mostly boring, the only dude i liked was the one that got sent away, and he got sent away...
The only two things i enjoyed about this movie were Donnie Yen and the cinematography, and is the only reason i made this.
