In this video, we'll show you how to delete a contact on an Android smartphone.

We store a lot of numbers in our phone books, but sometimes we no longer need some of them. In this case, you can delete them. It's very easy.

➡️ Open the Phone app.
➡️ Select the contact you want to delete.
➡️ Tap the three dots icon in the top right.
➡️ Select "Delete Contact" and confirm the deletion.

It also happens that some contacts are duplicated in your phone book. When you try to delete one of the duplicates, a message appears: "This contact contains information from multiple accounts. Information from read-only accounts will be hidden, but not deleted." This happens because the contact was created both in your phone book and in an app.

➡️ To delete such a contact, tap the pencil icon in the top right.
➡️ The contact editing form will open.
➡️ Here you'll find "Linked Contacts." Tap the arrow to see which apps this number is linked to.
➡️ Tap the three-dot icon in the top right.
➡️ Select "Unlink."
➡️ Then tap the "Split" button.

After this, there will be multiple contacts—the same number as the number of linked contacts. You can now delete all of these contacts. When deleting a contact that was linked to an app, the message will appear again, but this time it will be slightly different: "Contacts from read-only accounts will be hidden, but not deleted." Tap the "Hide" button, and a message will appear at the bottom informing you that the contact has been deleted.
You're done!
