Moving applications to the cloud requires infrastructure that can provide truly global Internet scale, performance and availability. The cloud has evolved and is no longer only a virtual server affair. Today's cloud needs to be a hybrid of virtual, bare metal and private clouds. All of these servers need to be quickly deployed on a shared network and managed through a highly automated platform or a robust API. This session will explore how SoftLayer is blurring the lines between dedicated, cloud, virtual and physical infrastructure to deliver an on-demand, consumptive billing model.
