Bowser once again kidnaps the Princess, and just as Mario is about to save her, a giant sword slams into Bowser's castle, flinging the would-be hero away with no way back. On his way to find and save the Princess once more, Mario finds new allies, and decides to help them find the Seven Stars to fix the Star Road pierced by the sword.
