10) Turtle Scares Off Lion
Lions are predators that will feed on any animal they can get their claws on. Generally, when faced with predators as deadly as wild cats, turtles defend themselves by retracting their head, legs, and tail, using their shell to protect their internal organs, as this prevents any predator from accessing them. Turtles usually remain enclosed in their shells until they are sure they are no longer in danger. But this small, brave creature decides to come to their defense at an exceptional moment. These two lions are quenching their thirst by a waterhole when a tortoise approaches them, appearing to be extremely aggressive. The tortoise approaches the wild cats, attracted by the blood on their chins from a previous hunt. The tortoise fearlessly approaches the lions, taking them both by surprise and driving them away.
9) Turtle breaks a pelican's beak
Pelicans are among the largest birds in the world, and their beaks are strong enough to hold more than three gallons of water at once. Pelicans feed by diving into the water to catch fish and eat them right there. But this pelican learns the hard way when it lowers its hand and encounters a turtle instead of a normal fish. Made entirely of keratin, and even weighing over 1,000 pounds, this pelican is no match for a turtle's shell. As soon as its beak collides with the shell, the poor bird suffers an irreparable injury, and its beak shatters completely due to the turtle's hard shell.
