BEFORE YOU DO the part at 7:30, you could instead use my Grass Occlusion system which doesn't rely on the colour of the grass but instead a Landscape layer sample (much better!)

Gang gang! In this video I take some concepts involving Runtime Virtual Textures and package them in to a simple and easy to follow tutorial that is suited to stylized video games, although this can be applied to photorealistic games as well. This is How to colour and blend Stylized Grass in UE4 (Free Tutorial) !
In summary, a runtime virtual texture "records" a texture from a source in real-time and "projects" it wherever you want. In this case, I show you how to rip the colour from your Landscape and inject it on to your Foliage!)
Note: I use my 720p monitor to record a lot of the material graph/settings etc. so that text is still readable on smaller devices. Apologies for the very cluttered screen at times!
