Round-robin sampling technology is a way to let the instrument play back a different sampled version of the same sound each time you hit the same key, so that just like most classic analogue synthesizer with each note sounds slightly different for more realism.
This feature becomes particularly important with sampling instrument to avoid the ‘machine gun’ effect of rapidly repeating the same sound.
In Bad AsStation, the oscillators consists of 24bit 96kHz sampled waveforms from the original unit. There are 6 Round Robin Samples working behind each note of the selected waveform, therefore there are totally 12 samples circulating at the back of each key of the twin oscillators.
Besides capturing the sound, we also recreated the whole synth engine according to the original unit. So you can have numerous possibilities making new sound.
