Today we will visit Covadonga, a stunning place in northern Spain, specifically in Asturias. It is a beautiful place in the mountains near Cangas de Onís, the first capital of the Asturian Kingdom.
There is a famous complex here dedicated to the victory of the army under the command of King Pelayo of Asturias, who defeated the Moorish forces. This was the first significant Christian victory over the Moors in Spain and marked the beginning of the Reconquista.
