The waterfalls in Wari Chora are known for their ethereal beauty and include popular attractions such as the Wari Chora Waterfall, which is one of the most prominent in the region. To travel from Dawki to Wari Chora in Meghalaya, you can follow these directions:
1. Start at Dawki: Dawki is a small town located in the West Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya. It is known for its clear waters and the nearby border crossing with Bangladesh.
2. Head northeast on NH6: From Dawki, you'll need to take the National Highway 6 (NH6) in a northeast direction. This highway connects various towns in Meghalaya and Assam.
3. Continue on NH6 towards Shillong: Follow NH6 until you reach Shillong, the capital city of Meghalaya. Shillong is located about 75 kilometers (47 miles) north of Dawki.
4. Take the road towards Cherrapunji/Sohra: From Shillong, you'll need to take the road that leads to Cherrapunji (also known as Sohra). Cherrapunji is a popular tourist destination in Meghalaya and is located about 50 kilometers (31 miles) west of Shillong.
5. Reach Cherrapunji: Once you reach Cherrapunji, continue on the same road in a westward direction towards Wari Chora. Wari Chora is a village located in the West Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya, approximately 15 kilometers (9 miles) west of Cherrapunji.
6. Arrive at Wari Chora: Follow the road until you reach Wari Chora. The village is nestled in the picturesque hills of Meghalaya and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscapes.
