2019 VW Golf R Review - Battle of the "R"s [4K] 1/4
Super excited to bring you guys the first episode of the Battle of the Rs.
Here is the total score of the 2019 Volkswagen Golf R
Styling : 6/10 - Exterior can easily be mistaken as the regular Golf's on the road for anyone with an untrained eye. But it does offer modern styling on the interior, especially the display of the digital cockpit.
Handling : 8/10 - Exceptional when you want it to be; a.k.a the Race mode. Steering could be tightened a bit but overall, the confidence was there.
Performance : 7/10 - The Golf R really wakes up at around 3500 RPMs and it starts to go from there. You get a nice kick to it and the manual transmission feels great when shifting. I do wish they would have an option to get the down-shift rev match for that perfect down-shift every time. The EA888 engine is award winning as well with the R having more reinforced parts in the engine.
Comfort : 9/10 - The leather seats definitely helps for day to day driving. Power adjustable goes a long way for someone looking for comfort and the seats do incline towards the driver, resembling a bucket-racing like seating.
Technology : 9/10 - Nav, backup-cam, adjustable dampening, digital cockpit, brake-hold are all packed inside the R and are done in a very refined and responsive approach.
That leaves us with a total score of 39/50 for the 2019 Volkswagen Golf R.
