Watch the live coverage of the historic moment of Ireland's first satellite launch! EIRSAT-1 is a 2U CubeSat built by students at University College Dublin as part of the European Space Agency (ESA) Academy's Fly Your Satellite! (FYS) program. It carries three experiments, including a gamma ray detector, a thermal coating study, and an attitude control algorithm. EIRSAT-1 will provide an in-orbit demonstration of innovative Irish technology and inspire the next generation of space scientists and engineers.
In this live stream, you will see the launch of EIRSAT-1 on board a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg SLC-4E, California. You will also hear from guests from ESA and the EIRSAT-1 team, who will explain the mission's history, the mission’s development and major launch milestones including liftoff, separation and acquisition of signal, from outside the EIRSAT-1 Mission Control Room in Dublin. The host will be Irish broadcaster Rick O'Shea, who will keep you entertained and informed throughout the event.
