https://www.centerforrespect.com/k12/. Mike Domitrz - Hall-of-Fame speaker, subject matter expert, author, and Founder of The Center for Respect, works with schools to create a Culture of Respect for everyone. His student assemblies, staff development programs, and parent sessions are known for bringing positive behavioral changes.
Topics Domitrz address include the following
Boundaries & Asking First:
Students will learn why Asking First and “Respecting the Answer” is the key to respecting boundaries, consent, healthy relationships, and safer decision-making.
Bystander Intervention:
Students will discover precise steps for intervening when they witness any sexual degradation (from harassment to sexual assault) - including when a peer uses alcohol & other drugs at parties to do so.
Survivor Support:
Help more students who are survivors feel safe coming forward by being equipped with the exact words to say and to know which resources to share with them.
Overcoming Unhealthy Expectations:
Influences from social media to pornography to entertainment to the pressure to send nudes to peers can lead students to feeling a lot pressure related to sexual decision-making. Mike Domitrz empowers students with specific language and the mindset for handling these moments in life so the students can make the safest, most respectful choice for themselves.
Changing the Standards:
Most students do not have a "Standard" for helping them make decisions regarding relationships. We provide students a specific model for helping them equip themselves with a helpful strategy.
“SAFER Choices” is one of the most inclusive and sought-after school assemblies for creating a safe, age appropriate look at consent, respect in relationships, boundaries, bystander intervention, and working to reduce sexual assault.
For 3 decades, the program has been brought in by schools throughout North America (public, private, faith-based, boarding, urban, rural, etc...).
You can have author and Hall of Fame Speaker (CPAE), Mike Domitrz, present this program live virtual or onsite.
While many school presentations try to raise a student’s awareness, Mike Domitrz’s “SAFER Choices” School Assembly is focused on getting students to take positive actions for creating a culture of respect in and outside of their school. Mike helps students shift their mindsets while providing each student with how-to skills for making safer choices for themselves and their peers.
Program Overview/Takeaways
In each 45 to 60 minute “SAFER Choices” Assembly, the content is customized to fit the students participating and the school culture. If Mike is sharing with 6th grade students or Seniors in high school, he tailors each lesson to be age appropriate.
