I wrote this song a couple of summers ago after spending a week in Portland, Oregon volunteering with Sparks of Hope. Sparks of Hope is a non-profit organization that empowers kids who are survivors of abuse. They do so through summer camps and other programs. I got to go out there and volunteer at one of the camps and it was one of the most incredible things I've ever gotten to be a part of. I found myself so very inspired by the kids and by the whole experience and I wrote this song the day I got home.
