In this video we have discussed about one of the routing protocol which comes under IGP which is EIGRP.
You can refer the below notes for your ready reference.
Quick Revision on EIGRP :
1. EIGRP : EIGRP Stands for - Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol.
It was developed by cisco in 1992 and it was cisco proprietary and later on it became open standard.
Prior to EIGRP it was IGRP(Interior Gateway Routing Protocol) and it was developed in 1985.
IGRP Used to follow the Bellman Ford Algorithm which works on minimum hop Counts. RIP also uses
the Bellman Ford algorithm.
2. EIGRP Works on DUAL Algorithm (Diffusing Update Algorithm) and it works on IP protocol number 88.
3. EIGRP is a Distance Vector Protocol and comes under IGP(Interior Gateway Routing Protocol).
4. EIGRP multicast address is 224.0.0.10
5. AD Value of EIGRP is : 90
6. EIGRP Hello timer is 5 Seconds and Hold down timer is 15 Seconds.
7. In EIGRP Autonomous Number range can be between : 1 to 65535
8. Faster convergence is there in EIGRP.
EIGRP Tables :
1. Neighbor Table - List of directly connected device which is configured to use EIGRP
2. Topology Table - List of all the routes
3. Routing Table - Best Paths
EIGRP Packets :
1. Hello
2. Update
3. Query
4. Reply
5. Acknowledgement
