What happens if Cities: Skylines 2 feels too easy… and you switch to a game that actually punishes every mistake?
In this video, I jumped into Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic and tried to build a fully functioning Soviet-style city where everything has to be planned properly. No easy money, no instant services, and no forgiving mechanics, if you mess up your production chains, transport, or housing, the entire city can collapse.
Instead of modern city-building, the goal here is survival through strict planning: heavy industry, worker transport, realistic supply chains, and a city that has to function like a real socialist republic.
What starts as a simple city quickly turns into a serious challenge where every road, every factory, and every decision matters. One bad setup can destroy the entire economy.
So the real question is:
Is Workers & Resources actually the “hard mode” version of Cities: Skylines… and can I survive building a Soviet city from scratch?
