Dr. Dolch made a list of the most common words in children's books and broke them into grade levels. These words consist of 80% of the words commonly found in children's books. This video is all the Noun Dolch Words. These are for grade pre Kindergarten through grade 3.
These are words that should be memorized to help children read faster and understand what they r reading better.
Sight Words are the most Common Words you come across while reading. If these words are memorized, your child can read faster and better understand what he/she is reading.
Some of these words do not follow traditional Letter and Sound relationships which make these words challenging to read. This is another reason to memorize Sight Words so children can recognize these words while reading.
