partial upgrade,can be a problem,in this video you will see what happens when you have alot of ppa's.for the most part I try my best to avoid partial upgrades,in the past I had some major probs with VLC and kdenlive bye doing the partial upgrade,so when you see the update manager you will see that not all update can bee installed,look at the ones that are unchecked and go into your synaptic and remove each one you may remove a program or two,when done run the update again,and then reinstall any programs that were removed.I hope this helps anyone.
