American actor and restaurateur Danny Trejo was born on May 16, 1944 on Temple Street in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. Trejo has appeared in numerous roles that are often hyper-masculine, villainous, and anti-heroes in movies like Con Air (1997) and Desperado (1995), but is perhaps most recognized as the character Machete in the Spy Kid series. His prominence in the B movie scene has resulted in disparate media sources referring to Trejo as an "iconic actor" and a "film legend", among other titles.
