There are a plethora of useful and interesting shortcuts for Google's Gboard — the default "stock" keyboard for Android as a platform — that can save you time and make text inputting easier, more efficient, and effective. And chances are, you're unaware that the majority of them exist.
Have you ever been typing an email or a chat message when you realise you need to add or change something several characters back?
Look for an icon that looks like a "I" with arrows on either side in the top-bar menu of the keyboard. You'll get a succession of arrows indicating position. Use them to precisely move your cursor accordingly and place it wherever it's needed. 👍
Don't be alarmed if you don't see a "I" there, hit the three-dot menu icon in that same location, find the item labelled "Text Editing," and then drag it up into the menu bar.
