A traumatic brain injury (TBI) occurs when the skull suffers a strong impact, causing damage to the brain. Strong blows to the head, accidents, and falls are the main causes of traumatic brain injury.

A traumatic brain injury can cause a variety of symptoms, which can vary in intensity and duration depending on the severity of the injury. The most common symptoms of traumatic brain injury are: headache, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, mental confusion, memory loss, difficulty concentrating, irritability and, in more severe cases, loss of consciousness.
02:08 - Post-Concussion Syndrome
Post-concussion syndrome occurs when a patient develops a series of symptoms after a head injury, which persists for more than three months. These symptoms include dizziness, memory loss, motor difficulties (ataxia), tinnitus, cognitive problems (such as reasoning and understanding), headaches and neck pain, personality and emotional changes, such as anxiety and depression.
