Lehman Stories: Student Kassandra Montes for
Student Kassandra Montes is a survivor—she survived Osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer, when she was in her teens. Today she is a single mother, who works several jobs while attending classes. Despite the impossible workload, she also serves as Vice President on Internal Affairs for Lehman's Student Government Association and volunteers her time when she can. She is also among the hundreds of college students who is struggling with housing and food insecurity. She is a frequent visitor to the Herbert H. Lehman Food Pantry. This is her Lehman Story.
