Coding Challenge #9 - Day of the Programmer
In 1918, February only had 15 days in Russia! This is because they were switching from the Julian Calendar to the Gregorian Calendar, and needed to get rid of a few days to get on track. In this video, we write a function that finds The Day of The Programmer, a holiday in Russia (and other countries) celebrated on the 256th day of each year. We take into account leap years, the Julian calendar vs. the Gregorian calendar, and of course, 1918 itself as we find the 256th day of each year. I start by simplifying the problem into an easy to understand algorithm, then walk through the code as I build the solution.
