Industry standard benchmarks show that Imply delivers 12 times the price / performance of Google BigQuery. It performs 3.1 times faster on a standardized query set. Imply is faster for all queries tested, performing up to 14.3 times faster than Google BigQuery.
If you normalize the Imply cluster size to match Google’s query speed, Imply costs 8% as much as Google BigQuery to run the query set, assuming very high query concurrency (128). The advantage increases as concurrency requirements are reduced.
In this webinar excerpt, Imply co-founder Gian Merlino discusses the benchmark results and the architectural differences between real-time data stores like Druid and cloud data warehouses that lead to this disparity. In the full webinar, learn how companies have implemented a “temperature-based” approach to analytics. Plus why data warehouses struggle with hot analytics use cases because they are too slow, unable to scale, or too expensive.
Imply transforms how businesses run by integrating real-time analytics into their operations. Founded by the authors of the Apache Druid database, Imply provides a cloud-native solution that delivers real-time ingestion, interactive ad-hoc queries, and intuitive visualizations for many types of event-driven and streaming data flows. Imply has operations in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific and is backed by Andreesen Horowitz, Khosla Ventures, and Geodesic Capital.
