MWC 2024: Qualcomm demonstrates the latest in 5G from space with NR-NTN
At MWC 2024, Qualcomm demonstrated the state of the art in 5G NR non-terrestrial network (NTN) technology using cabled testing and, for the very first time, over-the-air testing to accurately capture the important effects of device antennas when communicating with satellites traversing low-earth orbits. These demonstrations feature bi-directional video calls using 5G NR-NTN and the seamless continuity of video calls through non-terrestrial networks in the case of terrestrial network disruption.
