Toni Stone
Minnesota Historical Society performer Erica Orton presented the life of St. Paul native Toni Stone Thursday at the Virginia Public Library. Stone, baseball's first female player, broke into the major league level of the Negro League in the 1950s. She went on to play two seasons before racism and hostility from her male teammates forced her from the game.
