In this video, we learn how to efficiently graph several important polar curves, including circles tangent to the pole, cardioids, and limaçons. Along the way, I explain how to recognize the shape of the graph directly from the equation, which helps us sketch each graph quickly and accurately. We graph them by evaluating the quadrantal angles and organizing the results in a small table, then plotting the corresponding polar points. After graphing each curve, we also identify its lines of symmetry.
