The Starmus Festival was born to celebrate science and the arts with the goal of bringing an understanding and appreciation of science to the public at large.
STARMUS IV IN RETROSPECT
STARMUS IV took place in 2017 in Trondheim, Norway, with the theme "Life and the Universe." The festival brought together over 2300 delegates, including 11 Nobel Prize laureates, renowned astronauts like Charlie Duke and Sandra Magnus, and celebrated figures from the worlds of astronomy, biology, chemistry, and economics. Highlights included exceptional science-music performances by May-Britt Moser and Brian Greene, Stephen Hawking’s lecture on "The Future of Humanity," and the European premiere of the film The Spacewalker. The festival also featured special events like the BBC Radio 4 show The Infinite Monkey Cage, moderated by Brian Cox.
