🚀 The string in a ZipString, traveling at high speeds, requires balanced forces to achieve the desired shape needed. Stephen Fazio from @ZipStringOfficial explains how by incorporating a dark band and a simple optical sensor, we can analyze the amount of light reflected by the string, and thus, the speed.
📏 The oscilloscope captures the reflected light signals, enabling us to measure the frequency. Knowing that the string is 1.5 meters long, a quick calculation (1.5m x 13Hz) reveals that the string is moving at 19.5 meters per second! ⏱️
