VTP is used to manage the creation, modification, and deletion of VLANs on a network-wide basis, and it also allows for the synchronization of VLAN information between switches.
Dynamic Trunking Protocol (DTP) is a Cisco proprietary protocol that is used to negotiate trunking on a link between two devices, and to negotiate the type of trunking encapsulation to be used. DTP dynamically negotiates to convert a link to a trunk link, and can negotiate the following encapsulation types: ISL and 802.1Q.
