Using SDL Trados with MultiTerm for JP-EN translation
There are several methods you can use depending on the kind of text and document you want to translate.
Sometimes I use Trados, a professional, xml-based translation software. It works with translation memory and I add a termbase to it from MultiTerm, in which I have defined my exact terminology. This is necessary to be consistent throughout documents, texts, websites, books etc.
I cannot emphasize enough to be consistent in terminology. It is one key to successful communication.
