Arduino driving a Suzuki Samurai tachometer
I finally got an Arduino (ESP8266) to drive the original dashboard. Here we can see the tachometer, which responds to a variable frequency square wave.
The temperature and fuel gauges respond to a PWM signal and are also working.
All data is read in real time via the CAN bus (with the help of a CAN module) from the ACX1 controller.
This way, we can keep the original look of the interior. More lights could be used, like the now unused "oil check" (eg.: some fault) and "fuel reserve" (eg.: "turtle mode"?)
